Macule

These marking on this child's buttocks are called "ash leaf" macules. The skin lesions are ash leaf-shaped, white (depigmented), and flat (macular). Ash leaf macules are associated with the inherited disorder tuberous sclerosis. Other skin lesions associated with tuberous sclerosis include shagreen spots, sebaceous adenoma, and periungual fibromas.
